The Solar cells are protected with an optical quality encapsulant to make it totally water and weather resistant!
Charging time will depend on how low your battery is. From a full discharge you can use your PDA in 10 - 15 minutes...a full charge will take 1 - 2 hours.

The CF101A Pocket Pal Solar Charger will charge most PDA's, Zire 72's and iPAQ's would prefer the 5.6Volt CF101! If you have any doubt....look at your battery and see if the voltage is about 5 volts. If so you will need a CF101A (see Aurora Products link page).
Some iPAQ's can be charged with a small cylidrical plug adapter. They can be charged with either the CF101...or for a quicker charge see the CF101A.
Other PDA connecters are $5 - $7.00. Please tell us what PDA you have when you order.... and what the model no. is! That information is in your manual, or underneath your battery! (cell phone) Please allow 4 - 5 days.
