What is solar design software?

The term “solar design software” can refer to any set of digital tools that helps plan and design a solar energy system installation. What is solar cell simulation?

Solar cell simulation, also known as PV simulation or energy performance simulation, is used to predict the actual amount of energy a proposed solar panel system will generate. By using a full energy performance simulation, based on the system’s components and local sunlight data, it’s possible to predict the monthly production of a solar installation. 

In a true solar cell simulation, the energy predictions take into account real data from the ratings of the PV panels, inverters, wiring, and more. Solar cell simulations are run not only to predict solar power potential but also to identify areas where system loss may occur.
